First off, we are new to the area and have been wanting to try this place for a few weeks now and today we did. We ordered sesame chicken, shrimp lo mein, crab Rangoon and honey chicken wings….. we placed the order online and when I went into the restaurant, I didn’t smell any food at all! It was empty and so quiet! In the truck, I grabbed one of the wings and bit it, but it was as chewy as some bubble gum. Honey wings are supposed to be good, but these were just nasty. The sesame chicken was gigantic pieces of chicken that was wrapped in some kind of soft breading…it was Terrible. The shrimp lo mein had a decent flavor, but the shrimp itself was gummy and the noodles were cheap. The crab Rangoon was actually good but that was the only thing. We spent almost $50 and this food was almost inedible..Do yourself a favor and drive the extra few miles for some decent Chinese food because this is not that. Honestly, it is unsettling that people serve food like that.

This place has the potential to be the best Chinese food around. If they would just do away with extra charges for things you should get anyway. The food is always good. Fresh and hot. Overall rating 4/5

We visited Bamboo Garden Restaurant during lunchtime, expecting a quick and pleasant dining experience. While the restaurant wasn’t crowded, the service felt a bit slow. However, the server was friendly and attentive, doing her best to meet all of our needs, which we greatly appreciated. When the food arrived, it was served piping hot, a clear indicator of freshness. Unfortunately, the dishes lacked bold flavors and felt more like simple preparations rather than standout meals. While this might appeal to some diners who enjoy subtle tastes, it didn’t quite resonate with me. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quaint, with plenty of tables to accommodate guests, making it a comfortable space to dine. Although I can see how others might enjoy this spot for its simplicity, it’s not a place I’d choose to return to.

Our first time eating at Bamboo Garden and we were pleasantly surprised. When we arrived at 6:45 on Wednesday evening, we were the only diners in the restaurant. That concerned me a bit but a couple of others came in shortly after we arrived. We ordered Sesame Chicken and Sezchuan Chicken with fried rice. Both were very good and were served quickly. Food quality and quantity were excellent. We would definitely return. However, since we live in Pelham, we'll probably stick with our favorite Asian restaurant - Golden City. Bamboo Garden is a good choice if you live or work in the Alabaster area.
